Postcards, report cards and photos

Send photo postcards and report cards from bookings, upload booking photos and videos, and chase missing daily photo updates.

Owners book daycare partly for the updates. WagDay gives you three ways to send them — postcards, report cards and booking photos — plus a report that tells you which pets are still missing today's photo.

Send a postcard

A postcard is a photo and a short message emailed to the owner, sent against an active booking. Postcards are sent from the Communications hub, so you need Manager access or above — the booking page has a Pet Postcards card with a Go to Postcards shortcut.

  1. Open Communications and go to the Postcards tab.
  2. Under Send Pet Postcard, pick a Booking. The list shows current bookings — confirmed or checked-in — as "Pet — Location (date)".
  3. Write the Message (up to 1,000 characters).
  4. Add a Photo — JPEG, PNG or WebP. It's required, and you'll see a preview before sending.
  5. Click Send Postcard.

The Postcard History card below lists recent postcards with the pet, which staff member sent it, when, and the message — with links to view the photo and open the booking.

Report cards

A report card is a structured day summary for a booking, built on your organisation's templates. Staff create them from the booking page: the Create Report Card button appears once the pet is checked in (and stays available after check-out).

  1. Open the booking and click Create Report Card.
  2. Choose one of your facility's templates (the default template is listed first) and fill in the day's summary.
  3. Save it — the card now appears in the booking's Report Cards list.
  4. Click Send on the list to email it to the owner.

Each report card in the list shows its date, who wrote it, and a mood badge where one was recorded. Delivery is tracked: once sent, the card shows Sent, and that changes to Opened when the owner reads it — so you know which owners have actually seen their update. View opens the version the owner sees in their portal.

Report cards also appear on the pet's profile, so you can look back over a pet's history across bookings.

Booking photos and videos

Every booking has a Media card for photo and video uploads. Staff can upload:

  • Images: JPEG, PNG or WebP.
  • Videos: MP4, QuickTime or WebM.
  • An optional caption (up to 500 characters) — otherwise the uploader's name shows on the tile.

Uploads appear as a grid on the booking. Hover a tile to delete an item you need to remove.

The Photo Update Schedule report

Reports → Photo Update Schedule lists on-site pets who haven't received a photo update to their owner today. Run it before the afternoon pick-up rush: any pet still on the list needs a photo (or a postcard) before they go home.
