Getting started with WagDay
From sign-up to your first booking in about ten minutes — account, organisation, location, services and your first dog.
This guide walks you through the shortest path from creating an account to taking your first booking.
1. Create your account
Head to the WagDay sign-up page and register with your email, or continue with Google. You'll use this login for everything — there's no separate password for each location.
2. Set up your organisation
The first time you sign in, WagDay asks you to create your organisation — that's your business. Enter your trading name and ABN. If you employ staff, you can invite them later from Settings → Staff and choose what each person can see and do.
3. Add a location and opening hours
Every business needs at least one location (your daycare, kennel or salon). Under Settings → Locations, add your address and set your opening hours for each day of the week. WagDay uses these hours to decide which booking times are allowed, and each location can run in its own time zone — handy if you ever expand interstate.
4. Create your services
Services are what customers book: full-day daycare, half-day, boarding, grooming, training and so on. Set a price for each — prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. You can also set capacity (how many dogs you can take per day) so WagDay stops taking bookings once you're full.
5. Add a customer and their dog
Under Customers, add your first customer, then add their dog to the record. For each dog you can record breed, size, desexing status, vet details, vaccination certificates and notes. WagDay tracks vaccination expiry automatically and warns you — and the customer — before a certificate lapses.
6. Make your first booking
From the Bookings page or the scheduler, choose the customer, the dog, the service and the date. If the dog's vaccinations are out of date or the day is full, WagDay will tell you straight away rather than letting a problem booking through.
