Importing from PetManager

Switching from PetManager? The Data Import page under Settings brings your customers, pets and historical bookings across from PetManager CSV exports. Only Admins can run an import.

The four steps

1. Upload — choose the CSV file you exported from PetManager. The wizard reads the headers, recognises PetManager's format and pre-fills the column mapping for you.
2. Map — check each CSV column against the WagDay field it should land in. The wizard shows how much of the file is mapped as a percentage, and flags any required fields that still need a column before you can go on.
3. Validate — WagDay checks every row and lists the problems it finds, so you can fix the CSV and try again before anything is written.
4. Import — once validation is clean, start the job. It runs in the background with live progress.

Reading the result

Each job counts its rows three ways:

• Imported — rows that landed in WagDay.
• Skipped — rows the job passed over.
• Errors — rows that failed and need attention.

While a job runs you'll see it move through Validating and Importing; a job that hasn't started yet shows Pending. It ends in one of three states:

• Complete — the import finished.
• Failed — the import ran but hit errors. Review the validation details and retry.
• Cancelled — the job was cancelled before finishing.

The recent jobs list keeps your last 15 imports — file name, status and row counts — so you can always confirm what came across.

Tips for a clean import

• Export fresh CSVs from PetManager and upload them unchanged. The wizard recognises PetManager's standard columns; edits can throw the mapping off.
• Fix validation problems in the CSV itself, then re-upload — that keeps the imported/skipped/error counts meaningful.
• Check the recent jobs list when you're done so the row counts match what you expected to bring across.
