Using the scheduler
Run your day from one screen — day, week and month views, quick-create bookings, space moves and split stays, and a capacity heat-map.
The Scheduler is your floor plan for the day: who's coming, where they're going, and how full you are. All staff can use it. It's organised as three panels — Quick Create up top, the Space Board (day view), and the Scheduler Board grid.
Views and filters
The Scheduler Board switches between three views:
- Day — one day at a time, with the Space Board above it.
- Week — the week containing your selected date.
- Month — the full month, with the capacity heat-map (below).
Pick the view and date, then narrow the board with the Location and Service filters — leave them on "All locations" / "All services" to see everything — and hit Refresh.
Quick-create a booking
For a fast phone or walk-in booking, skip the full wizard:
- In Quick Create, search for the customer, then their pet (the pet search narrows to the selected customer).
- Choose the location, and optionally a space and a service — the space list only shows spaces at the chosen location.
- Set the start and end dates and Create booking.
Quick-create books a standard full-day window (9am–5pm). Need different times, extras, transport or a recurring pattern? Use the booking wizard instead.
Moving pets between spaces
Two ways, depending on what you're looking at:
- Space Board (day view) — drag a pet's chip from one space card onto another. Spaces can be grouped by Facility Type, Energy Level or Temperament, so you can drop a high-energy dog straight into the high-energy yard. A space at full capacity refuses the drop and tells you. Each card also shows which staff are assigned to that space today. The assignment dropdown offers only staff rostered that day — anyone already assigned who isn't rostered is labelled not rostered today — so plan shifts on the Roster first.
- Scheduler Board — use the Space dropdown on the booking's row, or drag the row onto a space chip above the grid.
If you haven't set up spaces yet, the Space Board shows an empty state with a Manage Spaces shortcut.
Split stays
A boarding dog moving rooms mid-stay (say, suite to yard for the weekend) is a split stay:
- On the booking's row in the Scheduler Board, open the Split action.
- Pick the split date and the space for each half of the stay.
- Save — the stay becomes two segments, split at midnight of the split date, each with its own space.
Month view: capacity heat-map
Switch to Month and each day cell is colour-coded by occupancy — from available through limited and almost full to full and booked out. A multi-day boarding stay counts on every day it spans, and cancelled or no-show bookings never count. The thresholds for "limited" and "almost full" come from the location's settings; days where every visible location is closed are marked closed.
Below each day's figure, the heat-map also lists the staff rostered to spaces that day — the first couple of names, then "+N more" — so you can spot under-rostered busy days before they happen.
