Pet Taxi: Pickup and Drop-off

Offer pet pickup and drop-off per location with time slots, a service radius, per-trip pricing and a vehicle capacity.

WagDay's transport feature lets you offer a pet taxi service — collecting pets from customers before their booking and dropping them home afterwards. Transport is configured per location, so each facility runs its own service.

Only Admins can configure transport.

Enable transport for a location

  1. Go to Catalog → Transport. Each of your locations has its own configuration card. (If you have no locations yet, add one first under Facilities → Locations.)
  2. On the location's card, switch on Pickup Service to offer collection from customers, Drop-off Service to offer return home, or both. They're independent — you can run one without the other.
  3. Complete the settings below and click Create Configuration (or Update Configuration on later edits).

Time slots

Once a service is enabled, add the time windows it runs in. Click Add Slot for each window and set:

  • Start and End — the window's times (end must be after start)
  • Label — an optional name such as "Morning" or "Afternoon" so staff and customers can tell slots apart

Add as many pickup and drop-off slots as each service needs, and remove any slot with its delete button.

Vehicle capacity and service radius

  • Vehicle Capacity — the number of pets per transport run. Use it to keep each run within what your vehicle safely carries (up to 100).
  • Service Radius (km) — the maximum distance from the location you'll travel for pickup or drop-off (up to 200 km).

Pricing

Transport pricing has two parts, both in AUD:

  • Base Fee — a flat fee per transport trip
  • Rate per km — an additional charge per kilometre travelled

Set either to 0 if you don't charge it. Use the Notes field for anything staff should know — vehicle types, special requirements, restricted areas.

Transport details on the booking

Bookings can be marked as requiring transport, with a pickup address and a drop-off address recorded on the booking itself — so the day's runs always trace back to a real reservation.

For the day's runs, use the Transport (Taxi) report in the Operations category of Reports. It lists bookings with pickup and drop-off requirements — your working list of who needs collecting and who needs taking home.
