Booking a day

How to book daycare (or boarding, grooming, training) through the portal — picking times, paying, and why you sometimes can't book at the last minute.

Booking through the portal takes a couple of minutes once your dog's profile is set up.

How to book

  1. Sign in to the portal and go to Bookings → New booking.
  2. Choose your dog (you can book for more than one dog — each gets their own booking).
  3. Pick the service — for example full-day daycare, a half day, boarding, or grooming.
  4. Choose the date. Days that are full or closed are greyed out, so you can't book them by accident.
  5. Choose your drop-off and pick-up times. Many daycares offer time windows (like "7:00–8:00am") rather than an exact minute — just pick the window that suits you. More on that in Drop-off and pick-up.
  6. Review the details and submit your request. You'll see an estimated total along the way, and a booking reference once it's sent. Your confirmation email arrives when the daycare approves the booking — not the instant you submit.

Your bookings all appear under Bookings, where you can check dates, times and status any time.

Credits, memberships and deposits

The booking form flags anything that changes what you pay, before you submit:

  • Package credits. If you have credits from a pass, the form shows how many are available and offers a Use a package credit for this booking checkbox. Tick it and, if a valid credit covers the service, it's applied to the request automatically. More in Passes and credits.
  • Membership pricing. If you're on one of the daycare's memberships, a badge shows the membership name and its pricing is applied to the booking.
  • Deposits. Some facilities take a deposit instead of full payment up front. If yours does, the confirmation shows the deposit due on approval — it becomes payable when the daycare approves the booking, not when you send the request.

Signing the agreement

Some bookings ask you to sign the daycare's agreement (their terms and conditions). If yours does, an Agreement card appears on the booking's page:

  1. Read the terms in the scroll box.
  2. Type your full name. Drawing a signature with your finger or mouse is optional.
  3. Tap Agree and sign.

Once signed, the card shows who signed and when — and it can't be un-signed, so give the terms a proper read first.

Why a day might be unavailable

  • The day is full. Daycares have a daily capacity for the dogs' safety. Try another date, or ask the daycare about a waitlist.
  • The daycare is closed that day. Public holidays and closure days show as unavailable.
  • It's too close to the start time. Many daycares set a cut-off — for example, bookings must be made at least 24 hours ahead — so they can plan staffing. If you're inside the cut-off, ring them; they can often book you in manually.
  • Your dog's vaccination has expired. The portal will tell you — upload the new certificate and, once the daycare verifies it, you're good to go. See Your dog's profile.

Cancelling a booking

Open the booking in the portal and send a cancellation request. A few things worth knowing before you do:

  • It's a request, not an instant cancel. The daycare's staff review every request, and you'll get a notification with the outcome — approved, or declined (which can happen if the booking has already started).
  • There's a cancel-by time. Each facility sets its own notice period, and the portal shows yours. Once you're inside that window a request can't be sent — ring the daycare instead.
  • Any fee is worked out when staff approve the request, based on the daycare's cancellation policy and how much notice you gave. Before you send the request you'll see the cancel-by time, not the fee — so if you're cutting it fine, ask the daycare what their policy charges. Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with.

Cancelling a booking walks through it step by step, and Payments and invoices explains how refunds and fees land.

Regular bookings

If your dog comes every Tuesday, ask the daycare about setting up a recurring booking or a multi-day pass — passes are under Passes in the portal and usually work out cheaper per day. See Passes and credits.
