The waitlist and held places

Join the waitlist for a full day, and confirm a place we hold for you when one opens.

Updated 30 Oct 2026

When a day is full, you can join the waitlist for it. If another booking is cancelled, the place goes to the people waiting, in the order they joined.

Joining the waitlist

  1. Start a booking as usual under Bookings → New booking.
  2. Pick your dog, the service and the day. If the day is full, you'll see Fully booked — join the waitlist.
  3. Join, and the day appears under Waitlist on your Bookings page.

You can leave the waitlist at any time from that card. Joining doesn't book anything or charge you anything.

When a place opens

Most facilities hold the place for you for a short time, often two hours. You get an email saying which day, and when the hold ends in the facility's time. The Waitlist card on your Bookings page shows the same.

To take the place:

  1. Open the link in the email, or select Review place on the Waitlist card.
  2. Choose your drop-off and pick-up times. For boarding, choose the pick-up date too.
  3. Select Check price to see the total and what you'll pay now.
  4. Select Confirm booking.

Confirming makes an ordinary booking, so the facility's usual rules apply. If they take payment when you book, you go straight to the secure payment page. If they review bookings first, your booking waits for their approval and you pay once they approve it. Nothing is booked or charged until you confirm.

If you don't need the place, select I don't need this place. The place goes to the next person waiting.

If you have package credits, you can choose to use one before you check the price. While a place is held for you, the booking calendar shows it as taken. Confirm it from the offer page.

If the hold ends

If you don't confirm before the hold ends, the place is offered to the next person, and your waitlist entry for that day closes. The same happens if you decline. You can join the waitlist again if you still need the day.

Sometimes a place opens but isn't offered to you, for example because your dog's vaccinations need updating, or because it opens too close to the day to book online under the facility's minimum notice. You stay on the waitlist for the next place. If the facility doesn't hold places, the email says a place has opened, and the first person to book it gets it.

Why couldn't I confirm?

  • The hold ended. The place has gone to the next person. You can rejoin the waitlist.
  • Something needs updating first. For example, an expired vaccination, a card the facility asks you to save, or saved details such as very long pet notes, which you can update under My pets. The message tells you what to fix. You can still confirm afterwards if the hold hasn't ended.
  • The facility released the place. The facility can give a held place to someone else. The offer page then says the offer has ended.
  • The times don't suit the facility. Pick times inside their opening hours and drop-off and pick-up windows.
